The Queensland Core Skills test is a common test taken by all Year 12 students. The UQCTP has developed and implemented programs to develop the cognitive skills behind the QCS test and to enhance performance across all subjects.  Teachers are trained in critical thinking pedagogies and deliver the programs under the guidance of UQ lecturers.  This program was piloted with two schools from the Ipswich region in 2013, and now has takeup from a large number of schools in the Logan and Ipswich regions. Approximateky 400 Year 11 and Year 12 students and 60 teachers per year now take part in the training.
